JOB TITLE: F&B Supervisor


Job Purpose

As a food and Beverage Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate all activities related to the service and quality of food and beverages served to guests. You will ensure efficient and effective F & B operations, maintain high standards of service and contribute to the over all guests satisfaction and profitability of the F & B department and hotel at large.

Rwenzori International Hotel Limited a member of Uganda hotel owners association was incorporated in July 2002.It is located on Mbogo road plot 1/3 Kamaiba,Kasese with the address P.O Box 280 Kasese . It is a 3 minutes drive from kasese airstrip (aerodrome) and is at the foot hills of the mountains of the moon, 1.5kms along the Kasese- Mbarara highway.

Job type –Full-Time

Reporting to: Operations Manager


Job specification

Supervision of F&B Operations:

  • Supervise daily operations of the restaurant, bar, banquet, and room service areas.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel standards.


Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise F&B staff, including wait staff, bartenders, and hosts/hostesses.
  • Schedule shifts and manage staff performance, ensuring high levels of customer service.


Customer Service:

  • Monitor guest satisfaction levels and address any issues promptly.
  • Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with guests and encourage staff to do the same.


Menu Planning and Pricing:

  • Assist in menu planning, including specials and promotions.
  • Monitor food and beverage costs and assist in pricing strategies to maximize profitability.


Inventory and Supplies Management:

  • Oversee inventory control, including ordering and receiving of food, beverages, and supplies.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of perishable items to minimize waste.


Quality Control and Hygiene Standards:

  • Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality and presentation.
  • Ensure adherence to cleanliness and sanitation standards in all F&B areas.


Training and Development:

  • Conduct training sessions for F&B staff on service standards, product knowledge, and safety procedures.
  • Foster a positive work environment and provide guidance and coaching to improve performance.


Event Coordination:

  • Coordinate and supervise F&B services for special events, banquets, and conferences.
  • Work closely with event planners and clients to ensure all requirements are met.


Budget Management:

  • Assist in preparing and managing the F&B department budget.
  • Monitor expenses and revenue to achieve financial targets and control costs.


Candidate specification

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.


Critical skills required

  • Proven experience as an F&B Supervisor or similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations calmly.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems and restaurant management software is a plus.
  • This is a very critical role to the business with opportunities for growth hence as a potential candidate you should be prepared to work hard and diligently.
