Loan Officer Underwriter
Key Responsibilities:
• Loan Application Review: Evaluate loanapplications by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and otherrelevant documents to determine the client’s creditworthiness and repaymentcapacity.
• Risk Assessment: Analyze the financialstability of applicants, considering factors such as income, assets,liabilities, credit history, and market conditions to assess risk and makeinformed underwriting decisions.
• Decision Making: Approve, deny, orrecommend modifications to loan applications based on a thorough analysis ofthe applicant’s financial status and adherence to company policies andregulatory requirements.
• Documentation: Ensure all loanapplication files are complete and accurately documented, maintaining detailedrecords of the underwriting process and decisions.
• Compliance: Adhere to all internalpolicies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in the underwritingprocess to ensure ethical and responsible lending practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with loanofficers, credit analysts, and other team members to provide feedback andrecommendations on loan applications, ensuring a seamless and efficient loanapproval process.
• Customer Service: Communicate withapplicants to gather additional information or clarify discrepancies in theirapplications, providing excellent customer service and maintaining positiveclient relationships.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’sdegree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Provenexperience as a loan underwriter, loan officer, or in a similar role within thefinancial services industry.
• Stronganalytical skills and the ability to assess complex financial information.
• In-depthknowledge of loan underwriting processes, financial regulations, and lendingstandards.
• Excellentdecision-making abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Strongcommunication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explaincomplex information clearly and professionally.
• Highlevel of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.
• Proficiencyin financial analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
