Kalangala Infrastructure Services Ltd (KIS) was formed in May 2006 as a Project company to implement the infrastructure improvements under Public Private Partnership between Government of Uganda and InfraCo in a USD 50 Million investment that will:
1) Provide two new ferries operating between Bukakata on the mainland and Luuku in Kalangala.
2) Upgrade of 66km Main Islands Road into Class B Murram by expansion and rehabilitation of the existing seasonal road.
3) Generation of 1.6MW from Solar Thermal Hybrid Plant at Bukuzindu in Mugoye Sub-county, and construction of distribution networks to all parts of Bugala island.
4) Supply of safe water in Kalangala Town council and 7 settlements areas
