Imani Academy - Kampala, Uganda

Imani Academy is a chain of affordable private nursery and primary schools that serve disadvantaged communities in Kampala. We provide high-quality education and facilities, as well as a self-sustaining financing model with a flexible payment structure. We charge an all-inclusive daily fee that covers tuition, lunch, and mid and end of term assessment. Most of our parents are from the informal sector, where income can be inconsistent. This payment system works with their cash flow patterns, allowing them to access quality holistic education despite their economic circumstances. We have also reworked the curriculum with an experiential, activity-based model that meets international standards and helps children learn better. This teaching approach is much more enjoyable than the traditional lecture model that other similar schools are still using.
