Introduction
Kabaddi is a contact sport that originated in Ancient India. The game of Kabaddi shall be governed and played under the following rules and regulations of International Kabaddi Federation (IKF).
The Kabaddi Federation of Uganda (KFU) is the central body for the administration and promotion of game of Kabaddi in Uganda.
Established in 2017, KFU is preceded by the World Kabaddi Federation, which came into existence in 1950.
It also organizes international Kabaddi tournaments for both men and women, in Uganda. Sub-junior and junior nationals and zonal competitions are also held by KFU, to promote the game at the local level.

Kabaddi saw its major breakthrough in 1990 when it was included in the Asian Games during 11th Asian Games at Beijing, China in 1990, since then Kabaddi is a regular discipline in Asian Games
