Shimoni Primary Teachers College - Kampala, Uganda

Shimoni Demonstration School was a primary school and teacher training college located in central Kampala, Uganda, established in 1952.
The institution was relocated to East Kololo primary school in 2006 where its still located(2008), and the land it occupied was sold to an investor in order to build a luxury hotel. Parents, pupils and teachers unsuccessfully protested against the move. It had been suggested that the hotel was a project of the country's programme to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2007. However, President Museveni denied this in his State of the Nation address.
