CARE International has been active in Uganda since 1969, implementing a diverse portfolio of programs and projects ranging from emergency services to economic development and civil society building. CARE’s first projects in Uganda focused on agricultural development, animal husbandry, health education and community development. CARE International Uganda’s current initiatives targets the most vulnerable communities, with a special focus on poor women and girls, who are the most at risk of rights’ abuse and exploitation.
