Company description
The Red Pepper Limited started business on 19th June, 2001, in the Ugandan capital Kampala, as the country’s first and leading tabloid newspaper.
Since its inception in 2001, the company has enjoyed tremendous growth from publishing its flagship brand, The Red Pepper, as a weekly to now a vibrant daily newspaper, famous for its exclusive mix of tabloid and mainstream content.
The Red Pepper is Uganda’s only indigenous-owned newspaper with four sister titles. Namely;
This is a daily tabloid that publishes in English and circulates across the country. It is strictly picture-based and is heavy on social, entertainment and human interest stories. It is a good medium for entertainment and informally-oriented low end businesses.
This is a daily vernacular
This is a weekly tabloid that publishes in Runyakitara, a language largely spoken in Western Uganda. Like Kamunye, its content is a blend of cultural, entertainment, sports, big pictures and the low-end market-oriented stories, making it a good medium for businesses targeting the western region of the country as well as Runyakitara speakers around the world.
