Company description
Associated Match Company Ltd (AMCO) started production of safety matches in Jinja, Uganda in 1963. Not only were the actual matches made of wood but the entire matchbox itself. Due to environmental concerns and a shortage of local timber post 1972 a major evolution in the match manufacturing industry was required. In 2007 a joint venture company was formed which involved the Madhvani Group and the Keshwala Group which was named Makepasi Match Ltd.
In 2020 Makepasi Match Ltd was recognised as the “Vantage Award Winner, Non-individual, Eastern Region - Financial Year 2019-20” for the top-most tax payer in Jinja District. We were invited by Uganda Revenue Authority to participate in an awards ceremony where our GM Mr. K. Subramanian and our FC Mr. Daxeshh Upadhyay formally received the award from URA.
