Appropriate Energy Saving Technologies - Soroti, Uganda

Appropriate Energy Saving Technologies (AEST) LTD is dedicated to providing sustainable energy solutions to households and institutions in urban and peri-urban areas in Northeastern Uganda. These solutions include charcoal briquettes made from recycled agricultural waste and energy saving cook stoves. The smokeless, sootless charcoal briquettes have a long burning capacity and are far more affordable than traditional fuels such as wood charcoal and firewood. The improved cook stoves feature a fired clay lining, a metallic cladding, a grate and a cement mixture used for assembly. The improved cook stoves have a much higher efficiency level of 50 to 60%, compared to the traditional stove's efficiency of 24%.
