New Obama Sudanese Restaurant - Kampala, Uganda

Perhaps one of the hardest to find restaurants in Kampala, New Obama’s Sudanese Restaurant is well worth the adventure it takes to find this hidden gem. Formerly located in the same Kabalagala compound that housed Obama’s Pizza (before it tragically burnt down), the new name serves as a memento to their former compound-mates.

One evening a few months ago I accidentally stumbled across this restaurant when mischievously wandering down a stairway in the back of Obama’s Pizza…when what to my wondering eyes should appear but a restaurant full of delicious Sudanese food and a smiling waiter! I haven’t been the same since.
